Class Observations    Formal class observations are held in November and March.  You are notified in the  newsletter of the date and time observers are invited to watch the class.  In general no informal observations are allowed as it is distracting to the students. Remember we have a one way viewing window for the pink studio and TV viewing from the green room. During observers week,  If you are able to arrange care for younger siblings it is greatly appreciated.  They too can be distracting and space is very tight during observations.  We appreciate your understanding.  If you are not able to attend a formal observation inquire at the office for an alternate date. 

Kitty Lee Dance Studio Policy & Guidelines

  • Tuition is due by the first of each month—a late fee of $10 will be charged if not received by the 15th.
  • Tuition can be charged on your credit card monthly if you wish. Please contact Lori in the office to arrange for this.
  • Withdrawal from classes can be done at anytime with written notification. Full tuition will be charged unless the office is notified.
  • All classes begin and end on time and all students are expected to arrive on time. 
  • Students must wear a one piece leotard and tights for all classes. No shorts, midriff tops or shorts are allowed.
  • Tap shoes should have tap ties or elastic ... no shoelace type ties please.
  • Students must wait inside the studio while waiting to be picked up from classes.
  • Please call the studio if your child will be absent from class. Makeup classes are available. Inquire with your instructor.
  • Please write your child’s name in each shoe and dance item including bags, jackets and sweatshirts.
  • Lost & found is located in the back hallway. All items not claimed are donated to the Goodwill every 30 days.
  • Our Concert  is in June at the end of our season.  Video taping and photography is allowed at rehearsals ONLY.  No video cameras or flash photography during the performance is allowed.  A professional company tapes each performance and they are available for purchase if you would like a copy of the show.  In addition a professional photographer is onsite at each rehearsal if you would like a picture of your child in costume.  Various package options are available.
  • Dress Code:
  •     Ballet Technique Classes: Black leotards and Pink convertible tights. Hair pulled securely     back. Pink Ballet shoes need to be split sole.
  •     Ballet/Tap Combo: Any color tights and leotards, pink ballet shoes and tan tap shoes.
  •     Jazz: Any color tights and leotards, jazz pants, capris or bootie shorts with tan jazz shoes.
  •     Hip Hop: Any comfortable clothing with tennis shoes (no jeans)
  •     Pom: Dance wear of any kind, midriffs allowed. Tennis shoes or tan jazz shoes.
  •     Boys: Sweat pants, shorts, t-shirts allowed. black tap shoes and tennis shoes for Hip Hop

Class Placement: Placement is made with the ability of the individual student in mind and advancement is not by classes as whole or by carpools. If a student shows appropriate and unusual progress during the year, He/She will be transferred to a more appropriate class. Pointe shoes are granted on the same basis-- when we feel the student is strong enough, regardless of her age or number of years of study.
